10101515101055Rush 7yFLFRCBFSCB

3-deep, 2-under coverage for vertical-stretch attacks and single-receiver reads. FS takes the middle third; CB and @CB2 own their deep thirds on the outside. The two flats are patrolled by the underneath defenders rotating on the first threat into their zone. Best called on 3rd-and-long or against teams that lean on 4-verticals and seam routes.

  • FS (Middle Third): Split the hash; handle any vertical stem up the middle. Rotate late to help over the top on broken plays.
  • CB (Deep Left Third): Open and retreat; never let anyone behind you. Passively cover the flat first 5 yards, then rotate to your deep third.
  • @CB2 (Deep Right Third): Mirror the left; own your boundary third and wall off the corner route.
  • Flat defenders (underneath rotation): Read the #2 on your side. If #2 goes vertical, carry them deep; if they sit/break out, drop to the flat zone and break on the break. Collisions at the route stem are fine—get hands on underneath traffic.
  • Strength: Best against empty sets and spacing attacks; can struggle vs. slot-fade combos and bunch formations. Pair with a 4-man rush for clean windows.
