Advanced perimeter misdirection with three ordered exchanges. The QB gives to a jet-motion receiver crossing the formation; that receiver hands back to the opposite wideout; the wideout gives once more to a trailing slot returning to the original edge. Four ball-handlers and two direction changes punish a defense that chases the first and second flow. Install only after the single reverse is clean — every mesh point must be behind the line and every exchange must be rehearsed at full speed.

Coaching breakdown

Double Reverse Right: jets right for the first exchange, hands back to flowing the other way, then gives to reversing once more toward the right edge. Three exchanges force pursuit to change direction twice before the final carrier turns upfield.

When to call it

One-shot call against extreme over-pursuit after the jet sweep and single reverse have both forced the defense to chase across the formation.

When not to use

Avoid against disciplined stay-home contain, in short fields where the second reversal has no horizontal space, or when wet conditions make three clean exchanges unrealistic.

How to adjust for situations

Shorten the second carry leg for younger teams and use a verbal mesh landmark for every exchange. If the edge defender stays home, the final carrier must plant and get vertical rather than continuing to race toward a capped sideline.

Common mistakes

Running the exchanges at half speed in practice — the timing only works when every carrier rehearses the real tempo.
Letting a mesh drift forward. Keep all three exchanges behind the line and give each pair a fixed landmark.
Calling it before the defense has committed to the base jet/reverse action; without over-pursuit the extra exchange only gives contain time to recover.
