Purpose Use one motion player and one handoff to attack the left side. The motion line is before the snap; the solid path is the run after the exchange.
Snap and exchange starts from the right backfield and moves left toward . Time the snap so has secured the ball before arrives at the marked exchange. gives a direct handoff; this drawing does not call for a direct snap, a reverse, or a later pass.
Assignments
Coach it Rehearse motion, snap, exchange and first steps at walking speed. Add an edge defender only after the ball is secure consistently. Keep one player in motion and follow the league's motion, handoff and no-run-zone rules.
Watch for The runner arriving before the snap is controlled, an unblocked defender holding the edge, or the runner reversing direction under pressure. If the timing is unreliable, return to the stationary handoff.
