Purpose Add an intermediate passing option after the quick game. The two inside-breaking routes enter different windows; this is not an immediate answer to an untouched rusher.
QB key looks for 's dig arriving in an open window, then breaking across the middle. If those windows are closed, check the short outlet. See the underneath defender before releasing the ball; an open-looking receiver behind that defender is not always a safe throw.
Assignments
Coach it Walk both crossing landmarks, then add an underneath defender. Against man, keep working across after the break. Any settle-against-zone adjustment should be taught and drawn before players use it.
Watch for Late throws into the middle, both receivers converging, or a QB who cannot comfortably reach the intermediate window. Use the quicker calls until the snap and timing are reliable. No blocking or deliberate picks.
